K. Sheldon Bailey Biography

K. Sheldon Bailey is one the most insightful Bible teachers in the world today. The uncommon revelation, soundness of doctrine and his expository ability, is intriguing, inspiring and encouraging to people of every culture and walk of life. His teaching is heavily laced with the Word of God and is delivered in a manner that is easily comprehended and, often humorous.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, K. Sheldon Bailey relocated to the Southern California, in 1984. On October 23, 1988 he committed his life to Jesus Christ at the Second Baptist Church of Santa Ana. In early 1989, in the city of Corona, he was filled with the Holy Spirit.

He began his teaching ministry at the Second Baptist Church in 1992 over the Singles' Ministry and, as the substitute teacher for the Men's Sunday school class. In 1994, he became the primary teacher for the Men's Sunday school class. In this same year he organized the SBC Evangelism Team which remains a significant part of the Second Baptist Church.

K. Sheldon Bailey acknowledged his call into the Gospel ministry in 1991 and preached his first sermon in 1995 at the Second Baptist Church. He instituted the New Believers Bible Study, a twelve-week study on the basics of Christianity that is designed to provide sound, foundational teaching to Believers. He also taught the general Bible study until his departure in December of 1998 after 10 years of committed membership and, faithful service. In June of 1999, he founded The City of God. The City of God would be a true non-denominational Christian church that placed a heavy emphasis on worship, the Word of God, the decent, orderly operation of all spiritual gifts and the spiritual growth and development of the Christian.

Although he has a degree in Biblical Studies, K. Sheldon Bailey has the spiritual gift of teaching. It is the gift of teaching that gives him revelation and uncommon insight into Scriptural truths and sound understanding of many of the controversial issues that have divided the Body of Christ for centuries. He has been referred to as, "...the best teacher I've ever had" and, "...the best I've ever heard".
